This Privacy Policy explains how Cemetery Tools, LLC (“Cemetery Tools,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites, applications, and related services (the “Service”). Cemetery Tools is a United States–based service. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.

• Account information. Name, email address, organization, and password (stored in hashed form) that you provide when you register.
• Billing information. Subscription status and related details. Payments are processed by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full payment card numbers.
• Content you submit. The questions, prompts, and other inputs you enter into the Service, and the responses generated for you.
• Usage and device data. Information about how you interact with the Service, such as log data, IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps.
• Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand usage.

• provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
• create and manage your account and process subscriptions and payments;
• generate AI responses to your questions and deliver requested features;
• send transactional and service messages (e.g., verification, billing, trial reminders, and security notices);
• monitor, secure, and troubleshoot the Service and prevent fraud and abuse;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:

• Service providers. With vendors who help us run the Service, such as payment processing (Stripe), AI processing (e.g., OpenAI), email delivery (Resend), database hosting (Neon), and application hosting (Vercel). These providers may process your information only to perform services for us.
• Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cemetery Tools, our users, or others.
• Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

To generate responses, the questions and content you submit may be transmitted to third-party AI providers that process them on our behalf. We work with providers that contractually limit use of your content. Because AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete, you should independently verify it and avoid submitting sensitive personal information you do not want processed.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and hashing of passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You may access and update your account information by signing in, and you can cancel your subscription from your billing settings. Depending on where you live (for example, residents of California and certain other U.S. states), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy practices.

We operate in the United States, and your information will be processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
